Inspire Africa has trained 308 female entrepreneurs in various managerial and business skills to boost their businesses.
The organisers said the training which was held at the Ignite Summit 2018 in Lokoja, Kogi state and in Zaria, Kaduna state in November 2018 was a prep class ahead of another grooming session, Ignite Innovation Lab 2019 holding this month.
In a statement, Inspire Africa said its trainers, Mr Chigozie Ubanagu and Mr Tolulope Falope, at the summit took the participants on design thinking process using the One-hour Gift Giving Exercise and also engaged them in the Marshmallow Challenge to help improve their capacity to work with teams. The firm said the 308 female participants were selected after the call for application was published in September recording over 600 applicants.
The participants were drawn from over 17 states including Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, Kogi, Abuja, Imo, Lagos, among others.
“The summit focused its training on building the capacity of female entrepreneurs to drive economic growth through building social, innovative and sustainable enterprises that address the sustainable development goals,” it noted.
The top 25 females entrepreneurs were selected to participate in a week-long Ignite Innovation Lab (January 2019).
