Delta Contributory Health Commission begins public servants registration

The registration process for public servants under the Delta State Contributory Health Scheme has commenced at the Contributory Health Commission’s Headquarters office on DBS Road, the Project eDelta State Secretariat office, and NECAB office on Nnebisi Road. The Registration Centers at DSiHUB and Ministry of Higher Education Hall will commence operations later to enable conclusion of the set up process for the two centers.

According to a statement by Dr. Michael Nwoko, SA to the Governor (Special Duties) on Contributory Health Commission, the registration activity which commenced on Tuesday 3rd Oct 2017 after the Public Holiday, witnessed turn out of the Public Service workers for the registration exercise which starts with the presentation of the National Identity Card or the NIN Slip of the Enrollee or a fresh registration if not previously registered with NIMC.

Next step is the validation of the Enrollee information in the DSCHC ICT system obtained from Hackabella. Thus all Public Servants are expected to come with their NIMC Identity Card or NIN Slip and State Staff Identity for the registration exercise.

A Unique Patient Identity (UPI) Number will be issued to the public servant after the validation with which his family members will reference when they come for their own registration.

Enrollees will later select a clinic from the list of Public and Private DSCHC Accredited Healthcare facilities close to their residence for their healthcare service. Some of the participants who spoke to our correspondents commended the Delta State Contributory Health Commission for commencing the registration exercise while calling on those who are yet to register, to take advantage of the ongoing registration process.

The Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has been commended by many people across the state for introducing the Health Scheme which will bring quality and affordable health care for all residents of the state.

The registration activity continued on Monday 9th October at the Commission Office, Project eDelta and NECAB, to enable the Commission review the process and improve with the lessons learnt from last week exercise. Efforts are also on to get DSiHUB registration center open within the next one week.

Public Servants in Field and LGA offices will have to go to the LGA NIMC Registration Centers to validate their National Identity Card or Register if they have not. The LGA NIMC Registration centers located at the 25 LGA Headquarters will be the initial field office registration centers for the scheme thus all public officer are to go there to register or validate their registration along with their family members. The DSCHC LGA Laison officers in each LGA headquarters will be on ground to assist and guide them through the process. The Commission further appealed with all Enrollees to please be patient with the process despite its initial challenges while efforts are on to quickly make it better and more efficient.
